Representation for a Young Family
Dilys Santos came to Washington, D.C. from Honduras in 2004 when she was 14, seeking a better life for herself and an opportunity to receive an education. A year and a half after she arrived, she enrolled in high school and went on to receive her associate’s degree. After holding a U-visa for four years, she applied for permanent residency. Sidley successfully assisted her with the application process, which is technically complicated — so much so that most eligible applicants decide not to pursue a change in classification. Ms. Santos is now able to remain in the United States and raise her daughter, who was born here in 2009.
